Library Fines

In case the book(s) are retained longer than the allowed period, the borrower(s) shall have to pay a fine as per following detail; however, the fine imposed shall not be exceeded than the original current price of the book(s).

  • If due date falls on Public holiday(s) then it would be the first working day and no fine would be charged. If borrowed material is returned after first working day then fine would be charged from the original due date.
  • On the recommendations of the Librarian concerned, the UOG Chief Librarian may wave off fine above than PKR 200/-
  • All financial transactions of more than PKR 100/- shall be processed through prescribed branch(s) of the bank(s). However, the member shall have to submit a copy of the bank challan at respective library circulation desk.
  • If a member feels that Circulation Desk has made an error or if he/she has a special situation that made it difficult for his/her to return or renew materials on time, he/she may file an application, either a hard copy or an email, addressing the chief librarian. Application must be filed within one week of imposition of the fine. After inquiry, charges may be sustained, decreased or waived off.
  • Fines collected by the library circulation staff (less than PKR. 100/-) would be deposited in the prescribed branch(s) of the bank(s) on daily basis and same will be reported to the Chief Librarian, QAL through proper channel. A comprehensive report of all collected fines shall also be forwarded to Treasurer, UOG quarterly.
