Library Resources & Services During COVID-19 Pandemic

During recent crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, many publishers are temporarily offering free access to their contents, while several resources were already accessible freely. Quaid-e-Azam Library is striving to curate useful resources that might be of interest to the learning community of UOG. The below guide is a compilation of both type of resources.

Open Access Resources During COVID-19 Pandemic

Free access to science journals Annual Reviews is a nonprofit publisher dedicated to synthesizing and integrating knowledge for the progress of science and the benefit of society. They have made all their journals available without access control.

A number of GeoScienceWorld (GSW) publishers are providing free access to their ebooks. Participating publishers are American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Canadian Science Publishing, Clay Minerals Society, Geological Society of America, Mineralogical Society of Great Britain and Ireland, PSAAPG, SEPM, Society for Sedimentary Geology, Society of Economic Geologists, and the University of Wyoming.

Always Free e-Resources

CORE is a collection of Open access research papers. It contains 187,080,276 articles, from thousands and over tens of thousands of journals, collected from 9,980 data providers around the world.

The Directory of Open Access Books is a joint service of OAPEN, OpenEdition, CNRS and Aix-Marseille Université, provided by DOAB Foundation.

EThOS is the UK’s national thesis service which aims to maximize the visibility and availability of the UK’s doctoral research theses. At present, there are approximately 500,000 records relating to theses awarded by over 120 institutions. Around 260,000 of these also provide access to the full text thesis, either via download from the EThOS database or via links to the institution’s own repository.
